Zoo day

The lions were majestic, the monkeys were playful and the hippo was dramatic but the favorite animal at the zoo this week was the prairie dog. They are pretty adorable and are very entertaining in their zoo environment as they scurry around sniffing everything.

Alcatraz

After living in San Francisco for almost eight years we finally ventured over to Alcatraz this weekend. What an amazing day trip starting with the boat ride and ending with a late lunch at Pier 23. It is such an interesting juxtaposition of nature and history. The irony of being held prisoner in the shadow of one of the most beautiful cities in the world is impossible to ignore while you are there. Floyd liked the boat ride and the giant rocks but was uninterested in the audio tour. . .

F Train Conductor

Trains and steering wheels, Floyd's two favorite things! Today he was lucky enough to not only ride on one of San Francisco's historic F trains but the conductor let him drive the train. Actually he sat in the driver seat for about three minutes and talked about it the rest of the day.
